Selectboard hears requests on North Road speed signage and fading painted island; manager cites DPW staffing shortage

Selectboard member Jonathan West raised three maintenance and traffic items on June 9: moving a speed limit sign on North Road closer to the Route 30 end, repainting the painted island at Barnumville Road and Beech Street, and general concern about faded road markings. Scott Murphy said the railroad work had been completed recently and that some signs were added this week, but he noted the Department of Public Works is very short-staffed.
Chair Ivan Beattie and other board members agreed the painted marker is helpful and should be repainted when staffing and schedules allow. Murphy said staff will track the requests and prioritize work given current DPW capacity.
