Floyd County approves $95,000 allocation for two 2026 coroner pickup trucks

Commissioners unanimously approved the purchase of two 2026 Silverado 1500 Standard Cab pickup trucks for the Coroner’s office, funded through a $95,000 allotment in the 2026 county budget.
Charlie Moon told the board the County Council allotted $95,000 for the purchases; Coyle Chevrolet was the only bidder able to provide turnkey vehicles. The board approved the motion on a motion by Jason Sharp and second by Frank Loop. County officials said operating the vehicles will let the Coroner’s office perform its own transports and reduce stress on EMS providers.
