The commission approved renewing the Granicus short‑term rental portal for the Planning Department for $72,828.79 under the Omnia cooperative agreement. Staff said the vendor quoted a module for automated tax collection that the county is not yet ready to use, so that module was removed from this year’s renewal to reduce the cost.
Purchasing staff noted the contract term is May 17 to May 16 and said the portal will allow planning staff to centralize short‑term rental data. Commissioners asked whether the item referred to a tax or a fee; staff said it pertains to lodgers‑tax collection capability within the platform that can be enabled later. The motion to authorize the purchase passed by roll call.
