Kane County reappoints Paul Gagner, appoints two new members to Tourism Tax Advisory Board

The Kane County Commission held a public hearing on appointments to the county Tourism Tax Advisory Board on Jan. 13 and appointed three members to two‑year terms. Chair Celeste Meyeres opened and closed the hearing after no members of the public offered comment.
By motion, the commission reappointed Paul Gagner to a term beginning Jan. 1, 2026 and ending Dec. 31, 2027 (Resolution No. R 2026-4). The commission also approved Resolution No. R 2026-5 appointing Joseph Sorensen and Nancy Seely to terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026 and ending Dec. 31, 2027. The motions carried with all commissioners voting in favor (Commissioner Brown-aye; Commissioner Kubeja-aye; Chair Meyeres-aye).
The appointments fill vacancies on the advisory board that helps guide use of tourism tax revenues; the minutes do not record additional discussion or candidate remarks.
