Taos Housing Partnership opens office, launches speaker series and expands local partnerships

Lisa O’Brien of the Taos Housing Partnership briefed the commission about organizational developments and program activity. She said the partnership has office space at Centinel Plaza and recently hired a part-time employee, and that the organization is using its office to host partners such as Dream Tree so residents can access navigators and service handoffs. “We are launching tomorrow our 7 month, speaker series,” she said, and listed that the first speaker will be Daniel Werwath.
O’Brien also told commissioners the partnership is working on housing concerns raised at Mariposa Apartments and is coordinating with state and local representatives and other organizations to assist residents; she said the partnership’s home-buyer education classes have averaged 15 to 20 people per session and that roughly 50 people have completed the program to date.
