Fire chief reports increased hours, $22,000 Ho-Chunk grant and equipment updates

Fire Chief Troy Madland told the board the department had seven calls in February totaling 74 hours and year-to-date (YTD) 305 hours compared with 142.5 hours at the same time last year. He said fuel cards remain nonfunctional and reported that the fire department received a $22,000 grant from Ho-Chunk.
Chief Madland said air packs purchased with grant funds should be delivered this month. He also requested that Clerk Michelle Klein place an agenda item to discuss a youth program for the fire department and indicated the Command vehicle (a Ford Excursion) has been running poorly; he suggested discussing purchase of a used pickup truck at a future meeting. The board approved an invoice from North Star Emergency Vehicle Service Inc. as recorded in the minutes.
