Judge Bruce Gatterman, chief judge of the 24th Judicial District, notified the board that a mock jury selection exercise will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026, for approximately 50 to 60 students from Larned, Pawnee Heights and Otis-Bison high schools. He said Ness City will host a separate mock jury selection for students there as well.
The judge and commissioners also discussed trustee-dollar distributions back to counties and the frequency of future disbursements, with options including an initial distribution followed by periodic (for example, five-year) subsequent distributions; no final decision on distribution timing was recorded in the minutes.
