John Zena, Planning & Development, explained the Walker amendment expands mailed notice for hearings from 500 to 750 feet; the Swearingen‑Washington amendment narrows where used‑tire shops may locate, adds a 0.25‑mile separation requirement and prohibits outdoor tire sales outside industrial districts; and the Green amendment would require special‑event permits for mobile food trucks in residential districts while adjusting the temporary‑use cap from four to six events a year for mobile food under special event permits.
Commissioners moved to adopt the amendments without objection; the committee recorded a favorable recommendation on second reading and indicated the measures would be synchronized with the City Council’s pending actions.
