The Isle La Motte Selectboard on Feb. 18 reviewed sealed bids for the East Shore Road project and entered an executive session to discuss contract details before deciding on an award.
Road Commissioner Robin Gutierrez said the town would purchase materials for the work as that approach appeared more cost-effective. The board received sealed packets and opened the packet type that excluded materials pricing because the town agreed to purchase materials. Chair Peter Brzozowy said opening certain packets in public could disadvantage the town or contractors, and the board entered executive session at 6:50 p.m. under 1 V.S.A. §313(a)(1)(A) to review the packet submitted by Ember's Garden LLC (Frank Ember). The executive session ended at 7:20 p.m.; the board reported it had questions for the bidder and requested additional information by email before any award. The board tabled the matter until the March 4, 2026 Selectboard meeting.
No formal award or vote was recorded; staff will email Ember's Garden LLC with requested clarifications and return the issue to the next meeting for a public decision.
