Andrew Whipple, participating by Zoom, told the Selectboard on Feb. 18 that the committee organizing Isle La Motte's 250th anniversary has applied for grant funding and is planning four public events in 2026.
Whipple listed tentative events: joining Alburgh's July 4 parade, a commemoration day on Aug. 22, a music-and-fireworks event on Sept. 19, and installation of interpretive kiosks around the island that describe local wartime history. Posters for the events are already in production. The Selectboard thanked Whipple and the volunteers for their work.
The board did not take formal action beyond accepting the update; organizers will return with grant outcomes and logistical details as planning continues.
