MES student wins MCC logo contest; commission to replace dead dedication tree in fall

Montgomery Elementary School student Maverick Sylvester won the MCC logo contest; a tree planted by the MES 2025 graduating class appears to have died and members agreed to replace it in the fall.
The commission selected a logo design submitted by now 8th grader Maverick Sylvester as the winner of the MES logo contest; members praised the design and discussed producing stickers and publicly honoring the student. Lynn Locher offered to contact Sandy Alexander with ideas for recognition and Lynn and Chair Patrick Calecas offered to check on local producers for stickers.
Joan Hildreth reported that the tree planted by the MES 2025 graduating class "appears to be dead now." Members agreed to replace the tree in the fall to give the new planting the best chance of thriving; Lynn offered to contact Sandy Alexander about replacement options.
