Council discussed an annexation request and a pending development agreement for roughly 25.05 acres in the H Street Cattle addition during the Aug. 14 meeting. Staff reminded council that a development agreement tied to the property (owned by Checkered Flag Investments) had been approved previously but not yet executed.
Chair moved to postpone consideration and hold a public hearing on the annexation at a date certain of Aug. 28, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers so the owner can complete outstanding items. Council approved the postponement unanimously.
Staff noted the annexation is associated with nearby roadway improvements (the Dale Earnhardt project) and that the developer had previously benefited from a road-assessment fee that helped bring some ETJ parcels into the towns tax base; staff said the development agreement is expected to be executed before the Aug. 28 meeting.
