Canyon Falls HOA asks Northlake to fund or fast-track $1M in trail and retaining-wall repairs

Multiple Canyon Falls residents and leaders urged the town to help finance urgent trail and retaining-wall repairs at the community center, saying the HOA lacks the upfront capital to pay an estimated $1,000,000 for structural fixes.
"We don't have $1,000,000 dollars in the HOA to put into repairs," Canyon Falls treasurer Steven Daika told council, noting the HOA already spent about $200,000 last year maintaining TIRs-area amenities and that reimbursement timing to the HOA can be 12–15 months. Speakers asked staff to review developer warranty terms and the original developer-town repayment agreement and to consider a town-led reserve study to identify other exposed liabilities in TIRs areas.
Staff said the structures sit on town property and that staff and council will work with the HOA and developer representatives to determine responsibilities, cost-sharing and timing. The council indicated willingness to investigate options and to discuss the matter further in executive session and follow-up briefings.
