Nye County Water District approves participation with DRI to update county water‑resources plan

The Nye County Water District voted Aug. 12 to adopt a resolution authorizing the district’s general manager to coordinate with the Desert Research Institute (DRI) on an update to the Nye County Water Resources Plan.
"The resolution would authorize the general manager or designee to coordinate with D.R.I. and support the study through data sharing and collaboration," the manager told the board when introducing the item. The manager told members that DRI will be paid with ARPA funds from the state, so the district will not bear the direct cost.
Board members and the liaison praised the plan as useful and said the update likely will require only date and number updates rather than radical changes. After a motion and second the board voted unanimously to authorize participation (6–0).
