"When we began, we had $940,447 in our savings account. When we finished the year, we had $1,005,575," the district manager told the board, summarizing the main figures in the presentation. The manager said the short version is the district "spent less money than we brought in," and that next year's reports will be reorganized to align budget lines with expected expenditures.
Board members asked for clarification about highlighted numbers and variances in professional services and subscription lines; the manager said some prior budgets were front‑loaded with savings and that the district has moved to a tighter budgeting approach. The manager committed to follow up with the finance team to explain an approximately $11,000 overage in subscriptions and dues.
