Tamworth Conservation Commission plans 60th anniversary outreach and promotes salt-responsible resources

The Commission will post an announcement for its 60th anniversary to the Tamworth Exchange and promote Green Mountain Conservation Group materials about Winter Salt Awareness Week (Jan. 26–30, 2026), including a Jan. 26 live stream on freshwater salinization.
The Commission plans to mark its 60th anniversary in 2026 with a targeted post to the Tamworth Exchange to encourage resident involvement; Ned Beecher will draft the message and Jeremy Phillips and Kit Morgan will review and add to it. The outreach item is intended to boost local visibility and recruit volunteers.
Commissioners also reviewed outreach materials from the Green Mountain Conservation Group about 'Salt Responsibly' and Winter Salt Awareness Week scheduled for Jan. 26–30, 2026. GMCG will host a livestream on freshwater salinization on Jan. 26 from 1:15–2:00 p.m., with discussion to 3:15 p.m.; sign-up information is available at GMCG.org and saltresponsibly.org, and NH DES resources and Green SnowPro trainings were noted as additional sources of information for best practices.
