Commissioner Charlie Townsend told the Tamworth Conservation Commission that the commission had a surplus in its 2025 budget because the final paycheck for the Administrative Assistant was not paid in 2025. That surplus was used to record payment for GMCG water‑quality testing to the 2025 budget.
Townsend said the commission is in months when the town budgets are not yet finalized and noted the Commission is paying some expenses now; he added the group is not paying an administrative assistant this month at least while they adjust spending plans.
