Proposed Carriage House redevelopment plan presented to Mansfield Economic Development Commission

Jennifer Kaufman, staff to the Economic Development Commission, introduced application P1391 on July 16, describing SR UConn Owner LLC’s proposal for a master development plan and a Planned Housing Design District on property along Carriage House Drive (Assessor's Parcel ID 8.21.5).
Evan Seeman of Robinson & Cole, representing the applicant, summarized the proposal’s developable area, applicable zoning and proposed unit density and showed renderings illustrating site layout, amenities and greenspace. Don Poland presented a fiscal and economic impact study for the proposal. Commissioners asked operational and infrastructure questions: Lane Watson asked about jobs that the project would generate in the local community, and Commissioner Nancy McKinney raised questions about water sourcing for the development. The Commission did not take a final vote and agreed to discuss the proposal further at a special meeting.
