She recommended a consistency finding.
Robert Sentara, Commodore of the Davis Island Yacht Club, described the dock’s history and damage from recent hurricanes and said the club is rebuilding with composite decking, wrapped piles, and a vinyl wave fence to reduce wave action. He emphasized the club’s youth sailing and community programs as part of the project purpose.
Commissioners asked whether the rebuild would add slips; Sentara said expansion is constrained by a city land lease. With no public opposition, the commission moved and unanimously approved the consistency finding for the Port permit.
