Council approves relocating town siren to north softball field; no action on timed notifications

The Menno City Council approved relocating a town siren from the east side of the fire station to the softball field on the north side of town. Councilmember George Cokens moved the relocation; Councilmember Terah Schoenfish seconded and the motion passed with all ayes. Minutes note the city previously had two sirens in central locations and that the relocation will place one at the north softball field.
Council considered but took no action on removing timed whistle notifications for the siren; the minutes record only that no action was taken on the whistles’ time notifications. Implementation details, including schedule changes or technical work orders, are not included in the minutes and will be handled by city maintenance staff.
