Menno approves District III support and grants temporary alcohol permit for July alley dance

Council voted to continue a $1,630 contribution to the District III joint cooperative agreement for 2027 and approved a temporary alcohol consumption permit for an alley dance between Beer Garden, Roosters and Schnitz on July 3, 2026.
On June 1 the Menno City Council voted to continue financial support of the Joint Cooperative Agreement with District III for 2027 at a contribution level of $1,630. George Cokens moved to continue support; Ron Diede seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council also approved a temporary consumption permit to allow alcohol in the alley between the Beer Garden, Roosters and Schnitz for an alley dance on July 3, 2026. The permit motion was moved by Ron Diede, seconded by Terah Schoenfish and approved with all votes aye. The council set its July regular meeting for July 6 at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:49 p.m.
