New Haven approves rescue squad and mutual aid agreements, allows withdrawal of dormant ACT 250 permit

The Selectboard voted to renew the town’s agreement with the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad for 2026–2027 at $25 per resident (per capita), the same rate as the previous year. The motion was approved unanimously.
The board also approved the Addison County Regional Planning Commission (ACRPC) Emergency Mutual Aid Agreement for 2026–2028, which allows Addison County towns to assist one another during crises. Both motions carried 5–0.
Separately, the board voted to allow the District Coordinator of the Environmental Commissions to withdraw ACT 250 application #4A0076, a long-dormant permit request for a municipal water supply and distribution system in New Haven Village that was placed in inactive status in December 1975. The board’s motion permits the coordinator to withdraw the file effective May 20, 2026; the minutes note there is no record of town correspondence or issuance of an ACT 250 permit dating to the early 1970s.
