Emergency Management Director Becky Hutchins reviewed updates to the 2026 Local Emergency Management Plan (LEMP) during the May 19 meeting. The Selectboard voted 5–0 to approve the updated LEMP after Hutchins noted a few edits that were incorporated into the draft.
Hutchins told the board she has been in contact with the Vermont Emergency Management Team and requested severe-weather alerts for the Addison County Fair & Field Days in August. She also said she would draft a plan to address the possibility of a protest at large public events and the board agreed that preparedness planning was appropriate.
The minutes record the LEMP approval vote but do not include the specific language of the edits. The board scheduled additional personnel policy review at the June 2 meeting; that item is separate from the LEMP action.
