Housing Task Force seeks village-center input, raises idea of community wastewater

Rick Shappy and Jeff Pratt said the committee’s immediate focus is on housing and public gathering places and on informing residents about possible proposals.
Jeff Pratt said the committee is also considering infrastructure options and “seeing if residents within the village would be interested in a community wastewater system,” and that the group will reach out to property owners about whether they would permit hookups or host a system site. The committee intends to forward its agendas and minutes to the town office to be posted on the town website so residents can follow developments.
The Task Force is still in an early stage of outreach; no specific sites, funding sources, or timelines were presented at the meeting. The committee asked for public input and for the Selectboard and town staff to help circulate information about upcoming meetings (the group meets every two weeks at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Offices).
