Davis County approves $15,000 ICAC Task Force award to bolster investigations of online child exploitation

The Board of Davis County Commissioners voted unanimously on July 14 to approve a Memorandum of Understanding with the Utah Attorney General's Office to participate in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force for fiscal year 2027. The award is $15,000 and is intended to fund software, equipment and investigative support.
Craig Webb, Bureau Chief of Investigations at the County Attorney's Office, said the task force has been active in investigating online predators since 2016 and noted participation in investigations of more than 1,000 individuals. The item was moved by Commissioner John Crofts and seconded by Vice Chair Lorene Kamalu; all present voted aye. The MOU begins July 1, 2026, and runs through June 30, 2027, per the agenda item.
