Barb Bloomberg reported that an iNaturalist presentation, including two hours of instruction and field time, is scheduled for May 22 with a presenter from the UNH Cooperative Extension; Lucy Gatchell will help with field activities and the Chocorua Lake Conservancy may co‑host through volunteer Juno. The presentation aims to build community skills in species observation and data collection.
Lucy reported Hikin' Heron patch participation counts of about 16 patches (+1 dog) in 2024 with $6 in donations and about 14 patches (+3 dogs) in 2025 with $65 in donations. Commissioners discussed encouraging more participation, possible kids' Rec. Program outings (with logistical and liability considerations), and broader outreach including social media or pull‑up signage. The outreach sticker motion was part of this discussion.
