Phil Crane, speaking for the Mount Holly Conservation Commission, said the commission will have two vacancies by the end of the month and requested the board's permission to purchase plants for the Star Lake Recreation area. Crane presented a plant list with a total cost of $409 and asked whether the Town could hold donations to support weed harvesting on the lake and to pay an operator if needed. He also proposed using remaining MERP grant funds to install LED lights in the Town Office.
Treasurer Liz Karle cautioned that the Commission may be over budget and asked for financial details; Karle confirmed the Town could hold donations but asked the commission to provide a draft donor letter to agree on wording and donor acknowledgement. Jeff Chase reminded the commission that any funds used would be subject to the Town's procurement policy and asked for more detail before the board would act on spending or allocations.
