Parks staff and volunteers are preparing for a tree lighting event scheduled for Dec. 6 at 6:00 p.m., City Administrator Max Baker said. Park restrooms remain closed because of vandalism while staff await vendor replacements for doors; staff have applied padlocks at Paul Fisher and resealed parts of the caboose to protect it from weather.
Baker reported Lane County received approval from the National Historic Bridge Society to install anchors and repair the roof on the covered bridge and that the county agreed to replace parking lot lights prior to the bridge lighting event. Baker said the county will complete those tasks in time for the event.
