Milbank staff report Unity parking, water project progress and public safety exercises
Summary
Staff reported completion of the Unity parking lot and sidewalks, a Twins grant-funded T-ball field, lifeguard training, repair of rubble-site fencing and signage, and that the water supply improvement project is about 25% complete.
Parks and recreation staff reported that parking lot and sidewalks at Unity and along Fourth Avenue have been completed, and that a Twins grant funded construction of a T-ball field; softball dugouts are planned for spring. Parks staff noted Jess Hanson completed lifeguard certification and will teach a class at the high school.
Public works and utilities staff reported repairs on three lift stations, completion of the quarterly toxicity test, rebuilding a jetter pump, and that the water supply improvement project is approximately 25% complete. City staff also reported fence and gate repairs at the rubble site and discussed the possibility of crushing the concrete pile.
