The Lowell City Council reviewed vendor quotes on Jan. 6 for a 4-by-6-foot digital reader board to be installed at City Hall/Library, with prices ranging from about $14,000 to $28,000. The project is budgeted at $18,000.
"The higher-priced option includes an on-board video processing unit rather than cloud-based management," Councilor Jimmy Murray said, explaining a key technical difference the council should consider. Council members asked staff to gather additional information, including references from current users, before making a recommendation.
Staff will return a recommendation at the council’s next meeting. No contract award or final selection occurred at the Jan. 6 work session.
