City Administrator Max Baker told the council the proposed fiscal year 2026–2027 budget had been completed and distributed to councilors and that the first budget committee meeting was scheduled for the following day, May 20, at 6:00 p.m. Baker reminded attendees that restroom facilities at the meeting location would not be available because of asbestos remediation and that dormitory facilities would be available if needed.
No budget deliberations were recorded at the May 19 meeting; the council took no formal budget action other than scheduling the committee meeting. Staff will bring budget documents to the committee meeting for review and public input and return recommendations to the council as required by statute.
