Board discusses crosswalk safety grant and invites GMP/engineer to talk about Weybridge hydro underpass

Selectboard members discussed two infrastructure topics: a possible Transportation Advisory Committee grant from the Addison County Regional Planning Commission to fund traffic-calming or crosswalk improvements and preliminary outreach concerning the Weybridge Hydroelectric Project.
On traffic safety, members said they would like blinking or flashing lights at the South Street/North Street/Main Street intersection and suggested contacting ACRPC (Mike Winslow) to learn how to apply for a traffic-calming study.
Separately, the board reviewed a notice that Green Mountain Power is preparing to initiate relicensing of the Weybridge Hydroelectric Project with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The Selectboard agreed it would be useful to invite GMP/Railroad representatives and Robert Clark from Otter Creek Engineering to a future meeting to discuss an underpass to the hydro plant and related public access or infrastructure issues.
No formal grant application or invitation had been scheduled at the meeting; the item was recorded as direction to staff and future agenda planning.
