Selectboard addresses dog-bite report, holds executive session and appoints interim member

Dog Warden and Animal Control Officer Ryan Emilio joined the meeting by Zoom to report a recent dog-bite incident. According to the meeting record, the dog’s owner admitted the animal had bitten previously; Mr. Emilio instructed the owner to keep the dog tied until further notice and said he would contact the victim to ask whether she wished to pursue further action.
At 8:30 p.m. the Selectboard moved into executive session to discuss personnel matters; Treasurer Julie Bessette and Selectboard Assistant Pam Kingman were included in the session. The board exited executive session at 8:50 p.m. and voted unanimously to change Peggy Connor’s hourly rate to the Zoning Administrator rate effective immediately. The board also appointed Shauntell Barnum as an interim Selectboard member until the town election in March 2027.
