During its May 21 meeting the Ridgefield Board of Education approved a walk-on resolution to reinstate Employee #3406 for the 2026-2027 school year after a Donaldson hearing in executive session. The reinstatement motion carried with four yea votes recorded; one board member was not present for the vote.
The board also approved several personnel items by consent: leaves of absence under FMLA/NJFLA for listed staff, appointment of non-certificated staff (for example, Alexandra Hernandez as a full-time teacher assistant at RMHS, pending background check), mentor payments to novice-teacher mentors (payments ranged from $165 to $600), and the appointment of summer substitutes and event staff. Separately, a motion to authorize the Superintendent to effect emergency hiring while the board was in recess (June 25'Sept 17, 2026) failed (Yea: Grippa, Jacobs, Jo; Nay: Hoffman; Not present: Borek).
