Ridgefield board approves several out-of-district special-education placements totaling six figures

The board approved a Sage Alliance placement for Student ID# 8875148344 at $82,553.31 for Sept. 2, 2026 through June 18, 2027. It approved multiple Allegro School entries for Student ID# 1299575278 including a summer per-diem total of $17,730 for 30 days (July 6'Aug. 14, 2026), a 180-day placement totaling $106,380 for the 2026-27 school year, and extraordinary services (1:1 aide) estimated at $40,500 for 180 days. The Transition Center at Wood-Ridge placement (BCSS) for Student ID# 9525274781 June 29'July 24, 2026 was approved at $6,850.
A separate motion to approve LearnWell educational services for a different resident student (retroactive from April 30, 2026, not to exceed 10 hours/week at $62.55/hr and an administrative/prep fee of $2,064.15) did not carry. Board members and the business office framed these approvals as required steps to meet students' IEP placements and state requirements; the transcript records motions, placement dates and the tuition totals noted above.
