County approves Pictometry imagery program and upgrades GIS mapping

Nemaha County approved a multi‑year Pictometry aerial imagery agreement (six‑year option, Critical360 hardware) and later authorized GIS mapping upgrades (GIS Workshop) to modernize parcel, infrastructure and emergency planning maps for county staff and the public.
In 2012 Nemaha County moved to modernize its mapping and imagery. Emergency Management Director Renee Critser presented Pictometry proposals to commissioners; after discussion the board accepted an amended Pictometry agreement for a six‑year program and Critical360 panoramic hardware and software to support emergency planning and aerial imagery needs. The amended agreement included two flights spaced over six years and a hardware/software license to enable detailed oblique imagery for county use.
Separately, the county’s assessor and clerk approved an upgrade to the public GIS portal with GIS Workshop. The vendor agreed to waive the assessor tab setup fee as Nemaha County had prior contracts; the board authorized the county assessor to sign the limited professional services agreement and adopted a $2,500 annual service commitment (first payment due July 1, 2013). The updated platform improves public access to parcel records, supports bridge inspection workflows and provides a more robust foundation for emergency response and permit review.
