The Nemaha County Board held a publicly noticed hearing on Sept. 11 to consider the FY 2013–14 county budget and the permissible increase in the base limitation percentage. The board adopted Resolution 2013-35 to accept the allowable increase (2.5% plus an additional 1%), then adopted Resolution 2013-36 to approve the FY 2013–14 budget, and Resolution 2013-37 to set the county tax rate at 0.354899. Notices of the hearings were published in advance in the Nemaha County Herald.
The votes to adopt the budget and set the tax rate were recorded by roll call. The board’s action followed the county’s required public-notice and hearing procedures under Nebraska law. Adoption of the budget and tax rate establishes the fiscal framework for county departments and programs for the 2013–14 fiscal year.
