Council approves $700 RTMP reimbursement to expand tourism map print run

Linda (presenter) asked the council to approve $700 from the RTMP fund to reimburse an additional print run of a tourism map for the Oak Ridge–Westfir area. She said Oak Ridge had already awarded the full amount to the project and the Westfir contribution would either increase the print run or be returned to Oak Ridge if unused. “They did award the full amount, and I just thought, well, if you all wanted to chip in, I would not use all the money that they awarded,” Linda said.
Councilors discussed making some maps un-folded for framing, adding metal signs at kiosk locations, and whether the additional funds should increase distribution farther afield. After discussion a motion to approve $700 from the RTMP fund passed by voice vote. Staff asked the presenter to send an invoice to the city for payment and to track distribution and any returned funds.
