Michelle Miller, a field emergency official attending the meeting, told the Daggett County Commission that crews have made substantial progress on the Grizzly Bridal fire and that it is "now 50% contained." She said recent weather made "a huge difference in fire behavior" and that some evacuation zones are being reduced but remain in place.
Miller also reported that the state Emergency Operations Center had upgraded its activation "up to a level 2" because of multiple regional fires, and that her office is coordinating with counterparts tracking other incidents. "We are keeping up to date on the information coming out on that," she said. The update closed with Miller noting fuel conditions and remaining hot days could affect behavior, and that she would advise commissioners if restrictions or evacuation guidance changed.
The commission did not take any formal action during the update; commissioners asked clarifying questions about whether county notices or restrictions needed changing, and Miller confirmed Forestry/Fire restrictions remain active.
