Commissioners authorize $25 Lions trailer membership; county to reapply for Homeland Security funds

Emergency Manager Brett Lambrecht requested county participation in a $25 membership with the Lions Disaster Relief Corp that would allow access to a disaster emergency trailer for major events; the trailer program is expected to be operational June 30, 2026. Commissioner Perry Miller seconded the motion and the board approved it on a roll-call vote while Commissioner Nathan Berseth was temporarily absent (recorded vote 4–0).
Lambrecht told the board that residual funds remain from the 2023 Homeland Security Grant and that he plans to apply again for bullet-proof glass doors at the Law Enforcement Center after a denial in 2025. He also reported coordination with local fire departments to create a quick-response team for grass fires to ensure additional engines are available if multiple incidents occur simultaneously.
The board authorized Lambrecht to participate in the Lions Club Disaster Trailer Membership; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
