A staff member told the budget committee that the district's general fund makes up about 64.2% of total resources and cited a figure of approximately $14,300,000. "Our general fund makes up 64.2% or which is about $14,300,000 of our, of our all of our resources," the presenter said.
The presenter explained that those resource figures exclude beginning fund balances and noted the district's beginning fund balance for 2023–24 was $2,800,000, which staff said included savings from federal COVID resources. "So, like, this year, we had 3.6 sorry. 2324. It was $2,800,000 in in beginning fund balances," the presenter said.
Staff walked through the district's major funds (general, grants, debt service, construction projects, trust/agency) and major functions (instruction, support services, enterprise/food service, construction), and said capital projects funding is principally from the construction excise tax. Committee members were told they would receive printed copies of the budget on request and that staff would present area-by-area changes including FTE adjustments during the budget committee review.
