S2 led a discussion of the evaluation tool the district has used (standards, goals, evidence, feedback survey, summary). Board members debated wording in Standard 4 that used the term "culturally responsive" and agreed to revise the language to focus on instructional leadership that is responsive to all students. Members agreed the targeted feedback survey should be tiered so different audiences receive questions appropriate to their role.
S2 moved and the board voted to postpone discussion of the superintendent contract until the May 8 regular meeting. Later S2 moved the board into executive session under ORS 192.660 to discuss performance evaluations of public officers and employees; the motion passed and the board adjourned into closed session.
