Douglass officials note withdrawal from Pottstown regional planning commission; regional plan in comment period

Douglass Township officials said May 26 that the Board has taken action to withdraw from the Pottstown Metro Regional Planning Commission (PMRPC) while the region’s comprehensive plan is in a 45-day comment period.
Planning Agency member Joe Richardson had no additional updates at the May meeting, and Interim Manager David Thompson said a meeting with Marley is planned to discuss next steps. Solicitor Blake Dunbar’s office is preparing a formal withdrawal letter. Naomi Crimm, representing MCPC, also attended and reported a strong turnout at the township’s May 19 revitalization open house that will inform local design staff as they refine proposals.
The Planning Agency did not take further formal action on the regional plan at the meeting but noted the comment period and the pending procedural steps related to withdrawal.
