District reports exhausted homelessness-prevention funds, McKinney-Vento subgrant and Title allocations

On federal Title funding, staff reported final 2026 allocations totaling $515,680.41, with $403,544.04 in Title I. She said preliminary 2027 numbers were released and might increase modestly; staff also said the district expects approximately $63,000 in summer reallocation funding toward a summer program that typically costs about $77,000, leaving a shortfall that local funds must bridge.
Committee members discussed ways the community could assist families now that some emergency funds are exhausted and asked staff to explore volunteer or local-resource options while noting privacy and confidentiality constraints when dealing with vulnerable families.
