Action 25-107 appointed Alex Binder as council president and Nick Vogel as vice president. The motion also assigned sitting council members to lead specific portfolios: Justin Scheff over utilities; Jasen Hanisch and Nick Vogel over Parks & Rec; Susan Painter over Finance; and Jasen Hanisch over Streets. The motion was moved by Council Hanisch, seconded by Council Vogel and recorded as carried with no opposition.
Council members discussed an upcoming CIP request for 1st Avenue, and staff were tasked with obtaining a quote to evaluate potential work. The appointments are procedural and intended to clarify responsibilities for the coming budget and project season.
