Matt Novak, Agency Regulatory Coordinator for the Department of Health Professions, informed the committee that "regulatory changes will be required to combine the Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Supervisee in Social Work categories," and staff outlined edits to multiple sections including definitions and Section 18VAC140-20-37.
Committee members discussed how the revisions would affect supervision, exam eligibility, and recordkeeping. The draft would add language addressing total face-to-face client contact hours and include the LMSW credential in the relevant calculations.
