At the start of her principals’ report, Middle/High School Principal Tammy Hixon acknowledged the death of a student, Preston Mulder, and offered the district's condolences.
Hixon said, “I would like to acknowledge the heartbreaking loss of one of our students, Preston Mulder,” and extended the district’s deepest condolences to his family. The district recorded a community fundraiser: Pawnee Lodge 82 requested use of the annex for a baked-potato fundraiser on June 26 to benefit the family.
Elementary Principal Kellie Ehler reported that the elementary office will be closed in July and reopen Aug. 3 with summer office hours Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m. She said PreK spots are still available for the 2026–2027 school year for children who will be four on or before Sept. 1, and that elementary enrollment is scheduled for Aug. 3 (1–7 p.m.) and Aug. 4 (9 a.m.–3 p.m.). The board also thanked staff and coaches for summer programs, including theater and athletics camps.
