The Montrose City Council on April 8 approved a request from Busy Bees to replace 26 street banners and brackets and to allow sponsorship funds to be funneled through the city budget. A representative said Fast Signs quoted $125 per banner; the council voted in favor of city sponsorship and routing of sponsorship proceeds (Action 25-053).
Mayor Susan Painter and councilmembers asked procedural questions about how sponsorship funds would be handled in the city accounting system and agreed to allow banners to be displayed for community events. The decision was recorded as Action 25-053 with a roll call stating “all favored, no opposition.”
