Principals report year-end testing, events and key dates; PreK and summer school enrollment announced

Elementary and MS/HS principals reported completion of state testing, upcoming PreK enrollment starting May 18, summer school dates, and reminded the community that graduation is May 15 at 7 p.m.
Elementary Principal Kellie Ehler told the board the elementary completed state testing April 13–24 and thanked volunteers and Beta students for help with events. She announced PreK enrollment for the 2026–27 school year will begin Monday, May 18, and that summer school will run Monday, May 18 through Friday, June 12.
MS/HS Principal Tammy Hixon summarized year-end activities including the annual Art Show, awards assemblies, Senior Reception and senior traditions. Hixon noted two track athletes qualified for state competition—Aiden Jones (shot put and discus, placed 7th in discus) and Reese Higgins (110-meter hurdles)—and reminded the board that graduation will be held Friday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. The principals also acknowledged Teacher Appreciation Week and community partners who provided refreshments for staff.
