The Montrose City Council approved a request by citizens to close the street east of the Methodist Church (from Walker Street to Main Street) on August 9 for a Fun Day festival. The motion (Action 25-068) was moved by Council member Vogel and seconded by Council member Scheff; the roll call was recorded as “all favored, no opposition.”
Earlier in the same discussion, Council member Scheff relayed that the Sons of the American Legion and the Busy Bees proposed replacing the Montrose welcome sign on Highway 38 and plan to fundraise to cover costs. No funding commitment by the city is recorded in the minutes.
